  Director of the Institute:

Professor Zbigniew Nêcki
Professor Nêcki deals with a broad spectre of issues connected with social behaviour in the context of formal organisations and against the background of interpersonal behaviour. He has published 7 books on this topic, the most successful of which is a work on business negotiations (4 editions) He is the author of several hundred articles in the field of negotiation and psychology of business. In charge of he Institute since 2002. Under his management the institute has doubled the number of students, launched the economics studies and four types of postgraduate studies: HRM, PR, Management and Audit and Quality Management. Moreover, numerous international contacts with schools of similar character have been initiated. The Institute participates in European research into innovation, development of the SME sector and intercultural communication.

 

    Deputy Director of the Institute:

Tadeusz Oleksyn PhD, Associate Professor
Professor T. Oleksyn specializes in the issues of management, especially Human Resources Management (HRM). He defended his doctoral thesis in the Institute of Work and Social Affairs in Warsaw (Nov. 1989), and the postdoctoral thesis in the Warsaw School of Economics (March 1999). Training and practice in Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Japan. He is an author of over 160 scientific and popular-science publications, mainly in the area of human resource management (motivation and remuneration, competencies management, professional assessment and development, job evaluation, personnel policy). He is also a Head of the Economics and Labour Management Section in the Institute of Economics and Management, Jagiellonian University.

  

  Deputy Director of the Institute:

Tomasz Tokarski PhD, Associate Professor

Born in 1967. In the years 1997-2003 he was Assistant Professor in the Economics Department of £ód¼ University Since 2003 Prof. Tokarski has been working for the Department of Management and Social Communication of the Jagiellonian University (currently Associate Professor in the Institute of Economics and Management). His research interests focus on macroeconomics, especially theories of economic growth, labour market and regional analyses of economic development in Poland. Conducts lectures and classes in macroeconomics, microeconomics and mathematical economics. Master’s degree in 1991, PhD in 1997 and postdoctoral degree in 2002 in the field of economics at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology of the £ód¼ University.

Professor Andrzej Matczewski, prof. zw.
Engineer, PhD and post-doctoral degree in technical sciences, Professor of Economics in the field of management, Professor at the Jagiellonian University, head of Strategic management and Technology Management of the Institute of Management, Jagiellonian University, head of the Management Department of the Higher School of Management and Social Sciences in Tychy. In the 80s lecturer at French universities and researcher in Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique. Research fields of interest comprise: strategic management, industrial marketing, knowledge and technology management, designing organisations, capital structures and economic relations. Author of over 100 Polish and foreign publications and 5 books. Advisor and manager in industry of many years’ standing. Expert and advisor in the Ministry of Industry and Trade and in toe National Research Committee. Member of a team of experts on offset projects assessment (2003)
